Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
Car Service (Repairs)
I was in a car accident and I only had liability insurance. My car is in the shop and I have been making payments towards the repairs. Now the company wants the full amount or they are saying they will sell my car. Can they do that?

Re: Car Service (Repairs)
Yes, but they should give you a reasonable period of time to pay the balance(30 days at least). Furthermore, selling your vehicle to pay the debt could prove more problematical than they may realize.

Yes, but I agree that its easier said than done under Virginia law, whether the fair value/price exceeds the repair and sale costs or not. You should consult an attorney about this matter. Good luck.
