Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
chiropractor bill
My wife received chiropractic services in 2003,2004 and 2005 which her insurance company did not pay completely. Now the chiropractic company is asking us for the remainder of the bill. Do we have legal rights to refuse payment.

Re: chiropractor bill
Why, of course, not. Whatever sums the insurance company may or may not have paid for is an issue between your wife and the insurance carrier and not between the carrier and the provider. Your wife is liable to the provider for whatever has not been paid for services rendered which in no way forecloses the possibilty of her securing reimbursement for any funds which she has to pay to this provider to settle the bill which she understood were to be paid by her insurance carrier.
