Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
Consumer Warranty
In April 2009, my husband and I purchased a used camper from a dealership. When we met with their financial person to complete the paperwork and sign the loan papers, we were offered a warranty. After much discussion, we purchased a 60 month warranty. The dealership called last week asking us to initial a change in the paperwork, there was an error and wanted us to initial the change from a 60 month warranty to a 48 month warranty. My husband refused letting them know after much discussion did we agree to even purchase the warranty and would not initial to reduce it. The dealership called to today stating that since we would not agree to initial the change from 60 months to 48 months that the warranty would be cancelled and a refund sent to the financing bank.
Is this legal to cancel the warranty due to their error? Are we able to return the camper to them over this issue?
Thank you,

Re: Consumer Warranty
Sounds fishy to me. Not sure they can cancel it.
