Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia

Dealership situation

My husband and I purchased a new vehicle this past Saturday. We were never told if things don't work out they will need the vehicle back. They pre-approved us, submitted all necessary info and came back and told us everything is good. Tuesday they called and said we have to return the vehicle. We signed all papers, had the purchase signing taped and never once did they say our credit is not good enough. Can they legally make us return the vehicle? We can afford the payments. Why would we have to return the vehicle? Is this legal or just a scare tactic? I greatly appreciate you help and hope to get a very quick response.

Re: Dealership situation

This is a common sleazy tactic. "Your financing wasn't really approved." What BS.. You need to get a local lawyer to contact the dealership, tell them to go pound sand, and threaten a lawsuit if they repo the vehicle. It is possible you could find a green lawyer who would advise you to return the vehicle, in which case you have the wrong lawyer.

Re: Dealership situation

If it does not say in the contract that the sale

is conditional, even after delivery, then it is

not. Go by what the contract says.
