Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
Engagement ring
my son went to a reputable jewelry store to have the diamond he purchase from another company set on a ring - he wanted to have set on a 19-karat gold -
yesterday, the store called him to tell him they made a mistake - they set the stone on a platinium instead on the 19-k he paid for. Since he already gave the ring to his fiance - what is his right on this matter?

Re: Engagement ring
He has a right to be reimbursed for the difference in value, if any, between the two settings or to have the job done right by having the ring returned to the store to redo the setting which was apparently botched.
