Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
Good evening,
I have a legal question that I hope you can answer for me. I recently signed up for a gym membership, but due to a number of factors have decided that I need to cancel. However, when I called and asked for a manager, I was told that I could not break the contract and would be stuck paying for a service I can neither use nor afford for the next three years! When I initially signed up, I was pressured into it, and was never given a chance to read the contract over (and I also do not have a copy of the contract either) and was just told to "sign here." Is there anything I can do to get out of what seems to be an unfair contract?
