Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
Someone I know is hosting a conference at a hotel in Suffolk VA Feb 22-24. She has used this hotel several times before. The agreement was for 6 rooms and meals. The hotel rep told her to go ahead and advertise and they would sign the contract shortly. Guests who are trying to reserve rooms are being told that the contract hasn't been signed and are being asked to be responsible for making sure te hotel gets its money. The hotel is also trying o back out of what it offered. The sponsor is being put in a bad light and wants to know her options.

The sponsor and would-be guests/attendees should run from this"deal" ASAP
and find another conference venue in the Suffolk area (my opinion).
