Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia

It is illegal for a debt collector to take money out of your bank account without your authorization? I autorized a monthly payment but then they were to contact me after the initial 6 momths payment. They withdrew the amount out of my bank acct without my authorization?

The collection agency is Located in Florida but I'm reside in Virginia,

Yes, I would think so. However, as to whether you may wish to demand a refund of these funds probably would require requires further careful consideration on your part.
