Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
joint checking account
my wife put some cash that i gave to her for my children in savings accounts in their names but since they are minors, her social security number is attached to the accounts. she then had a judgement with a wage garnishment placed on her checking account and the back searched her ssn and found it associated with the kids accounts and have placed a hold on the accounts. since they are joint, can they do that? what recource do i have?

Your wife would appear well advised to request a hearing before the court which issued the garnishment to contest this particular witholding.
(You could appear as a witness in the matter if necessary.)
