Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
Got judgement, now what?
Hi. Over 4 months ago I won my civil cuit in VA court. The woman I sued, paid my judgement on the spot. End of story. Case closed. Today however, I recieved a rude e-mail from her telling me that I haven't informed the court that she paid me. I wasn't informed I needed to do this and can't really find any information about it. Do I need to do something else with the court and can I get into any trouble because I haven't?
Thanks!

Re: Got judgement, now what?
she's absolutely right - in fact if you don't get it done within ten days of her demand, you can wind up paying her attorneys' fees to get it done. go to the clerk's office and ask if they have a form you can fill out for "release and satisfaction" of the judgment. if they don't ask how to file one.
