Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia

I need legal assistance because a car dealership is trying to dispute a vehicle

Recently, I signed a lease agreement (LA) for a Honda Odyssey from the Honda Dealer in Woodbridge, VA. I also traded in an Accord and am to receive a check for approx $4760. The dispute: A section in the LA specifies Estimated Fees and Taxes During Lease Term as follows: I agree to pay when all title/license/registration/official fees and taxes over the term of my Lease...Lessor estimates this amount to be: $1707.83. The actual total of fees and taxes may be higher, or lower, depending upon whether the garaging address of the Vehicle changes, and on the tax rates in effect, or the value of the Vehicle at the time a fee or tax is assessed When I signed the LA the biz mngr crossed through the $1707.83 and wrote in $800. She said the amount listed was incorrect and $800 was correct. 2 weeks later the mngr called and said the $800 figure was incorrect and needed to cng it back to the orig $1707.83. Then she said the dealer could not give us the check for the trade-in until I initialed the change. The mngrs super tried to tell me the Bank would not accept the LA without initialing the change. He even tried to tell me that he got the amount down to $1107.83. I said I didnt think I was obligated to change the lease agreement.

Re: I need legal assistance because a car dealership is trying to dispute a vehi

If the Honda dealer made a material mistake of fact in the lease agreement, they are entitled to remedy the mistake and you are not entitled to gain an advantage from that mistake nor to obtain more than the terms of the agreement allowed from an accurate rendering of the term: Estimated Fees

and Taxes During Lease Term.

The $800 was obviously not an accurate rendering

of the aforementioned term and therefore constituted a material mistake of fact which the

dealer was entitled to correct.
