Liability
I planned an overnight trip to NYC to see The Color Purple. The cost of trip included hotel, dinner, play tickets and motorcoach ride. One person did not show up. I did not hear from her until a week AFTER the trip. Now she wants refund. I was unable to cancel her hotel room, could not resale the play ticket, had to pay for her dinner. Am I liable to issue a refund.

I would say no to the defaulter which you've described under these circumstances.
