Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
Overcharge of loan payment
I am not aware that they have any policy
on this matter. I am paying monthly on
a consolidated loan to a company
around $497.00/ month. My payments
are due at the end of each month. A few
days ago I authorized Julys payment
online in the amount of $497.00 which
was the ammount due. Today when the
payment posted to my account it was
twice that ammount. (It had included
both July and August). My August
payment is not due till the 24th and I
did not authorize a $1004.00 payment.
I am asking for them to re-imbnurse
me the over chage, for I did not choose
to pre-pay for August. They are saying
it may be my fault and that they can
not. How can this be when it had to be a
processing error for I cant afford that
ammount and I did not authorize that.

Re: Overcharge of loan payment
It would appear that this matter is nearly moot as the 24th of August, your apparent due date
for this month's payment, is just around the corner.
If I were you, I would instead concentrate my efforts on getting this company to get the withdrawal amounts correct in the future.
