Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
Our propane company started charging a $25.00 late fee every month. We are on a payment plan thru the winter months. Our payment every month is $200.00, a statement arrives that we are to send the top back with our payment. It is due on the 10th but often the invoice does not arrive until the 8th. Do they have the right to charge this exorbitant fee without the statement arrival at least 10 prior to due date?

Without reviewing your payment plan (assuming that it is or is backed by an enforceable contract), I couldn't offer an opinion on this matter.
