Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
Have Not Received Vehicle Tile Yet
I purchase a vehicle 6 weeks ago. i paid the seller a check and i got the car. She had a bank loan out on the car so she stated that i would get the title from her bank when they processed it. Its been 6 weeks and i have not received a title yet, when i asked about it she said the bank is backlogged and they're not sure when they will be able to release the title. Should I be worried? is this normal for it to take this long to receive my title? if not what recourse can i persue?

Re: Have Not Received Vehicle Tile Yet
Yes, you should be worried and should never have agreed to purchase the vehicle under these kind of conditions
which have failed thus far to produce a clear title to you(and very likely will continue to do so, unfortunately, into the indefinite future).
One of the reasons that this is so is that you're apparently having to rely totally upon this seller's word and have not independenly verified with the bank their(the banks) intent to release the title to you who are essentially a stranger to the transaction involving the seller and the bank as lender. (In the meantime, the seller's got your money, O happy day, Vegas on the way!)
