Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
I recently signed a 1 year contract with a pest control company at my business. I have been very dissatisfied with their service. I sent them a 60 day cancellation notice as per the contract but they say since it hasn't been a year I must either keep their service or pay the rest of the contract. Am I legally obligated to this contract even though I don't feel like their holding up their end of it?

No, you are not, if the other party to this contract, i.e., the pest control company has committed one or more material breaches of this contract. (Consult with
an attorney who handles consumer affairs matters if you're not sure
whether such breach(es) may in fact have occurred---or not.)
