Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia

Recently, I visited a local spa for a massage and facial. While there, prior to receiving my services, I took off my wedding rings and placed them in the pocket of the robe they provided. At the end of the visit, I changed my clothes, hung up the robe and left. I did not realize until the next morning that my rings had been left at the spa. After being in touch with the spa for the past week and a half, they have not been recovered and I am devastated. I filed police report and have been contacting local pawn shops to no avail. Do I have some legal recourse? Does the spa hold some responsibility as I KNOW for certain that this is where I left my rings? I was told that sometimes businesses have insurance to cover this sort of thing.

On what legal theory could the spa under the facts described be

held responsible for the disappearance of your rings which apparently you didn't even discover until the following day? Off hand,

I simply can't think of any; no, none at all.

Case will be difficult and you will need an attorney. You won't likely get any relief on your own. Good luck.
