Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
release promissory note
If I have a promissory note for a loan that I want to release someone from how would I go about it? I wanted to send the promissory note with a signed statement to the person I gave the loan to so that they can show their lawyer and be released from it.

Re: release promissory note
Just purchase and download the appropriate release form for the promissory note which you should be able to find by following the forms link on the home page of this website. Fill it out, attach it to the original note, and, send it off to your friend(keeping a copy for your records), and you shouldn't need to include any separately signed statement.
