Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
repossesion
10yrs ago i had a car repossesed the bank sold the car at auction and sent me the remainder of the bill $6000,i never paid it, and no leagal action was taken against me, now 10yrs later a collection agency has started harrasing me for the money threatining all kinds of things. I have not responded, isnt there a statue of limitations on this? I bought the car in massachuetts.

Yes, but you need to raise the statute of limitations as an affirmative defense to the claim of debt in order to take advantage of it, as it doesn't come into play, automatically, as a matter of law.
