Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
I signed a contract with an alarm company on 7/22/10 to expire 7/22/15. I have been having problems and I was not made aware of information that would have made a decision on how long I wanted to sign up. I spoke to a rep of the company and she changed the expiration date from 7/22/2015 to 9/22/2015. I wanted to cancel the contract but I was told that I could not because I was past the 3 day cancellation date(7/22/10). I was wondering since that date was changed to 9/22/2015 and I have an email from the rep stating the change in dates. Does that mean that I now have the opportunity to cancel due the date being changed from 7/22/15 to 9/22/15?

Probably not, but what do you have to lose now by trying to cancel it?
