Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia

Unsatisfied with stylist as beauty salon

What can you do if you pay a hair stylist for a service and youre unsatisfied with the outcome? My complaint is with a stylist at a beauty salon where I went to get braids. We agreed upon a hairstyle, but when she finished my hair did not look like the pictures of the style that we discussed. I hated the style because it was not what I wanted and expected, so I asked her to remove the braids. She put my hair into a ponytail and sent me to get a wig. She charged me $125 even though the style was not what we discussed. I had to go out a buy a wig for $40 to cover up my undone hair underneath. Three days later, I went back to the salon and complained that I paid $125 and walked out with an unfinished style. I wanted to get my hair redone free of charge since I had already spent $225. The stylist refused to redo my hair. I feel that the stylist should have worked with me to give me hairdo that I would have been happy with. I spent $225 for labor and supplies and now Im wearing a wig to cover up my undone hair. Do I have any grounds to take her to small claims court? I would like to sue for $65 so I can take this wig off and get my hair done at another salon.

Re: Unsatisfied with stylist as beauty salon

Sure, sue for whatever you believe your damages to reasonably be plus the cost of filing the case (around $50 or so).
