Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
Vehicle Repairs
I recently had $5000.00 worth of repairs done to a 2002 Peterbilt on the transmission clutches. The dealership did not plug an electrical circuit back up tightly, and it coroded. They are trying to bill another $1100.00 because they said they never touched this part, however, they dropped the entire transmission and would have had to disconnect this part. Do I have recourse to have them pay for this?

Re: Vehicle Repairs
If you can prove by a preponderance of the evidence that the dealership was negligent, you could sue them for the $1100 if you had to pay it to them in order to get your truck back.
Otherwise, you could sit back and wait until they sue you and then(with the help of an attorney) you could prepare your defense, i.e, your presentation to the court showing how your evidence demonstrates that the dealership was negligent with respect to this electrical circuit.
