Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
Verbal agreement for automobile
I made a verbal agreement to buy a car from a private party. I promised to pay the owner the next day and she agreed to the time and price. However, the next day she said someone else looked at the car and gave her $500 and promised to pay her the balance the following day. The owner signed an agreement with this other person that he had until 4 pm the next day to pay her. My question is this: Is her verbal agreement with me binding? Does she have to sell me the car or does the other persons written agreement binding?

Re: Verbal agreement for automobile
Verbal agreements are worth the paper they're printed on.
