Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
vinyl liquid siding
We contracted with a company to apply vinyl liquid siding in 2001 and have had problems ever since. They continued to remove wood and add new siding, however, and as late as Dec. 2006 agreed to repair more siding after having an inspector. It is November 2007 and the company went out of business Oct 9. We now have to have the siding ripped off and new siding installed to the tune of $20,000. Since the contractor went out of business, our 25 year warranty is no good. How do we sue him without using an attorney and spending money which we do not have

Re: vinyl liquid siding
I don't have an answer for that one. (Unless the contractor was personally liable for the work, as opposed to his company only, even if you had the money to sue, it would apparently amount to a fruitless exercise.)
