Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia
We are working with a debt consolidation company United Financial. They are located in Florida.
They have become more and more late with their disbusements and claim it takes 7-15 days for a creditor to post payments to an account. I have looked at my contract with this firm and it doesn't state this timeline. Recently they received a payment from us $1852.00 a direct payment via ACH on the 18th of June. On June 23rd they sent to me a statement stating "No Disbursements as of 6/23/2010". As of today 7/12/2010 - I checked with my creditors - they have not received payment. Which reflects that we are now 32 days late with the payments.
What can I do? At this point I am more than willing to pay the creditors monthly.

It would seem to depend upon what the contract may or may not allow
you to do (without penalty) at this point with respect to the debt consolidation
company. And for that determination, you may wish to arrange for a consultation
with a local attorney who handles contract matters and who should be able to
advise you further on this situation, once the attorney has had the
opportunity to review this contract.
