Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

1995 circuit court judgment

I have a judgment that was awarded to me back in 1995 I was advised at the time to file it in district court and also in circuit court

which I received a abstract. Time has past at the district court. But it has not in the circuit court can I still enforce garnishment?

and if so what kind of forms do I need to garnish?

Thank you

Re: 1995 circuit court judgment

Judgments properly filed in Virginia circuit courts are good for 20 years and they can be renewed for another 20.

The clerk of the court that issued the judgment should be able to explain what needs to be filed to secure a garnishment on

the wages of the judgment debtor.
