Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

I have a $11,750 judgement with 6% interest awarded in December 2010 against a contractor that he is making no effort to pay. He claims to have no assesses except his house. I have placed a lien with the city. How can I force him to sell his house so I can get my money. I do not see a mortgage registered with the city. I can not garnish his wages because he has now gotten his new business in his wife's name.

The lien encumbering this contractor's house may be forecloseable

if the property is titled only in his name (and does not include a wife).

Therefore, your first step should be to determine as to how this property

is titled. However, even if your lien cannot be foreclosed, you could still

have this fellow summoned into court to answer what are called "debtor's

interrogatories" to gain further information as to any assets in your debtor's

possession which might be used to satisfy your judgment which remains unpaid.
