calls from aol collections for computer i did't buy
i am getting daily calls from aol collections about $200 for a computer they said they sent me. i never ordered or got a computer.i have talked to at least 15 people at aol including supervisors i kept names and dates.and sent e-mails.i don't think they would take me to court over$200 (i wish they would)but i am worried they may put it on my credit report.what should i do? thanks

There is very little you can do about a
collection agency calling your, and unfortunately
there are very low standards for adding it to
one's credit report. There are some courts that
will view this as "defamation" although that is
somewhat controversial in this area.
The best thing would be if they did take you
to court, where they would have to actually prove
it.

You say you've "kept names and dates and sent emails"(all of which are likely of peripheral relevance). What about requesting a copy of the AOL invoice detailing the order which you allegedly initiated?
Have you done this? If not, why not?
