Collecting an out of state judgement.

If I obtain a civil judgement in Virginia, can I collect from the individual who lives in North Carolina?

The NC courts will give "full faith and credit" to a VA judgment, provided jurisdiction was validly obtained over the defendant. Whether you can actually collect depends, as it does anywhere, on whether the defendant has assets.
