credit card balances
i have a credit card that was maxed out by a friend of mine. i just received a statement from them telling me that they are going to file suit against me in richmond, virginia? what will they do? can they garnish my wages or just put a judgement against me? i have no way to pay the card at present time.

Yes, once the card issuer obtains a valid judgment against you from an appropriate court in Richmond, your judgment creditor will then be able to enforce the judgment by garnishing your wages and/or levying against your bank account(s).
