Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia
Credit card debt collections
A collection agency has bought a Credit Card debt which is past the SOL in Virginia. I believe the state code explains that a creditor has up to three years to force judgement through the courts on any unwritten contract which I believe is what Credit card debt falls under in the state code. Can you confirm this?

And the statute of limitations for written contracts in the Commonwealth is five years. See Va. Code Sec. 8.01-246(2).
