What are the statute of limitations on credit card forgery in Va? Do I have to press forgery charges against my spouse to get it paid? It happened in 1994.

Re: Credit card forgery statute of limitations

If it's a felony, there is no statute of limitations(SOL) in the Commonwealth, although that doesn't mean that your Office of Commonwealth's Attorney would be enthusiastic about prosecuting such a charge more than 12 years old.

But, on the other hand, if you were to prosecute the matter as a civil wrong, it would now appear too late as the SOL would've run years ago on any such tort involving civil fraud.
