i had a credit card for 200.00 a few years ago! i lost my job and house well im back to work i work for the commonwealth of va well the people representing the credit card company called my job and told my boss that they have a warrant for my arrest for this credit card. when all they have is a summons to go to court because im being sued for 500.00 for the credit card but i work at vaabc the people called every store wanting to know the procedures for arresting an employee and of course when they starting calling all the stores looking for me someone from another store called the big boss in richmond saying that someone was looking to arrest me and the commonwealth is freaking out . the people representing the credit card company are refusing to take less then 180.00 monthly and want my debit card info. i am a single mother only working part time. can they arrest me?? should i give them my debit info?? or should i go to court and let them know that they might have cost me my job by calling the commonwealth of va saying they have an arrest warrant for me on a credit card?

No, these predators cannot have you arrested for a civil debt.
No, you should not give them any bank or other financial account(s) information.
Yes, if you've received a summons to appear in court, you will need
to appear, but you should at least consult with an attorney first
to determine what possible defenses you may have to their claim such
as the statute of limitations. Furthermore, by threatening to have you
arrested, these predators may have also violated provisions of the Fair Debt
Collection Practices Act as well as other applicable federal and state laws
and thereby possibly making them liable to you in civil damages.
