Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

Credit Report

I'm the administrator of my father's estate since he died, and I'm trying to obtain a copy of his credit report to find out if he had insurance or protection on any of his cards. What forms would I need to be able to get a copy of his credit report?

Re: Credit Report

You could probably get a copy of your deceased father's credit reports simply by submitting a letter requesting it along with a copy of the

probate court's order appointing you as administrator.

These reports, however, will not provide the information which you apparently are seeking and you will still need to contact individual card issuers to determine whether your father had any kind of insurance coverage on these cards, which, if he did, probably ceased upon his death and would likely be of little use in probating his estate.
