Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

A creditor is attempting to collect a debt for a car for which I was explaining I was a victim of Identity theft. They are still attempting to make me liable even though I have a suit filed against the person responsible for the debt. Can I file a cease and desist until my lawsuit is completed And then forward them the results? The car was purchased in Maryland.

If you've already filed suit against the identity thief, it would be better to have

your lawyer send this creditor a cease and desist notice with a copy of the

complaint that has been filed in order to deter them from pursuing further action

against you.
