Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

Debt accured by my wife

My wife is being admitted to rehab for cocaine & alcohol abuse. During this abuse she has ran up $30K of debt. What can I do to stop all of the auto pay bills from hitting here account when no money is there to cover and the overdraft charges are building up. She has no job and has made a lot of unbelievable financial decisions. Based on her doctors advice to go to rehab what can I do to get here debt from running out of control. she's made several payday loans which are outstanding and a lot of her credit cards are automatically withdrawing the money from here credit union who pays the withdrawal but using another account to cover this. Now that account is growing and needs to paid to the CU and the interest and the overdraft fee and the aount of the bill being withdrawn. I am over whelmed with mounting bill that I cannot do anything with. Is there a way I can get permmision to manage this account and others since she has no job and is confined to rehab and my income is the only source. She also owns over $800 in fed and state taxes. She has wriiten 2 or 3 bad checks and was nearly can to court and her arrest. I need help bad and soon.

You might wish to arrange for a consultation regarding these matters with an attorney who handles credit, debt, and collection matters.

It may be that you should apply to the approrpriate court to be appointed a conservator of your wife's financial affairs.
