Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia
I have a debt that has gone to a collection agency. The calls have started. I am working with Care One in a debt management program to include this collection agency and I have sent them a cease and desist letter & advised they can contact Care One. I am also concerned this collection agency will take action against the 3 major credit bureaus and I planned to send them another letter to validate the debt. However, I was thinking that by doing this, since I have already ready reported the debt to Care One to work on, this will delay the proposal from being accepted. Should I just wait and not send this additional letter? The proposals go out by March 29th. I got my first letter from the collection agency March 2

Since you've apparently hired Care One to assist you with this matter, it
would seem advisable for you to contact them as to whether you should. at
this stage of matters now send this second letter to the collection agecny requesting that it validate the debt that it claims you owe.
(There may be little point in this revalidation request if you're already certain
that in fact you do owe it and have reported it to Care One as one of your debts to be managed under its debt management program.)
