Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia
I'd like to know what happens when a debt collector won't accept your payment. They want my banking info over the phone and I won't give it to them, instead I want to mail it, they say no way and hang up. What do I do?

Giving that to them could haunt you later and if you are sending a check from your checking account, then that is pretty much the same info. You might consider consulting an attorney about the details of this matter. Good luck.

They will try to sue you at some point. Document the phone conversations (get collector's name, date of call). In court inform the judge. Try to use this to eliminate attorneys fees they may try to claim for taking you to court.
