Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

Debt settlements

Due to $88K in credit card debt, we enrolled with a debt settlement co two yrs ago. We are now down to settling the last 3 accts, but our money is getting low due to higher settlements than were guaranteed. Should we stick it out or try to handle these ourselves? What if someone obtains a judgement before we settle? We thought this was a good plan to begin with, considering the alternative- bankruptcy, which we qualified for. Now that we understand the system and how it works.....not so good. What would be our best option at this point?

Re: Debt settlements

Your assessment of the plan as "not so good" without more information is not good enough with respect to relevant facts necessary to offer any credible recommendation for this particular situation.
