i'm a 78-year old diabetic with a serious headinjury. I'm not able to work and can't pay my credit card bills. How can I keep them from hassling me with phone calls?

As long as your creditors' collectors stay within the parameters outlined in the FDCPA(Fair Debt Collections Practices Act), including the permissible time frames to call you at home, and any other related state or federal statutes/regulations which might be applicable to your situation,

and as long as these are debts which you legitimately owe, I know of no way to keep these creditors or their agents/representatives from calling you other than to suggest that you might want to consider changing your phone number to a private/unlisted number.
