Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

My family is being harassed by debt collectors. This one company called G.E. Money calls every single day 5 - 7 times a day. Even on Sundays and at 9 or 10pm. We have only answered twice, and there was silence and after about the 3rd hello they hang up. We always get at least 5 a day, and we're getting sick of it. Also Chase bank calls 3 times a day. Those two are the only debt collectors were are going out of their way to harass us. Is there a law in Virginia that makes this illegal? Also should I keep record of each call? I am sure writing on paper won't prove anything, so how do you record it?
