Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia
My federal tax return of $1784.00 (3-27-09) was taken to pay child support arrears owed. I sent this information to child support collection agency(Texas). I just recieved a wage garnishment for the same amount. from the same agency. What options do I have? I guess the document from the IRS was not sufficient. Do I have to go to court to get this resolved.

You should contest the wage garnishment by following whatever instructions that should've come with it which should explain this process. If DCSE(Div. of Child Support Enforcement),i.e.,the Virginia Child Support Enforcement agency, is somehow involved with the Texas garnishment action, then take the matter up with them at their headquarters in Richmond.
