Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

I am being garnished by the state of north carolina for state taxes. They put a hold on my bank account. They sent me a letter stating this but it did not have a court or date for me to appear. I contacted Legal Aid in my state, they said that it was not handle right legally. They said they could help me but then they decided they could not because it was out of state. Who legally can I get to help me?

You might wish to contact one of the low cost legal aid providers in Virginia to determine whether you might qualify for their services. (See VaLegalAid.org for further information.)

You might also send a written letter of protest to your bank claiming that the garnishment from N. Carolina was not processed in accord wih required legal procedures and therefore should be dismissed.
