Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

I currently have a garnishment against me for Child Support and Spousal Support. The 50% discretionary income limit is garnished, and I still have to pay out of pocket every month to DCS to cover the rest of my support obligations.

I have a judgement against me from 2011 for old CC debt accumulated while unemployed. The law firm sent me a garnishment summons for October of this year. If they are awarded a garnishment, could they then seize my bank accounts? Or would the current in place garnishment "protect" me?

No, your non-wage assets such as bank accounts could be subject to seizure (my opinion).
