Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

My girlfriend and I recently broke up, prior (2 days) to going on a cruise together, which at the time was going to be for her graduation present. Before the break up, when the cruise tickets and flights were bought I stated that if we break up she owes me for the cruise. Since we broke up before the cruise, does she legally owe me the money for the cruise?

Yes, if there was a verbal contract for such an arrangement. (However,

if you have to go to court to enforce this agreement, you may have some

difficulty in proving it.)
