Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

Homestead Deed

I have a question about personal properties included in the household goods exemptions?

Is a personal Computer [less than $600] part of the exempt household goods, or do I need to Include it in a Homestead Deed to protect it from a judgment by a creditor?

Re: Homestead Deed

It may depend on the use to which the computer is put - if it is primarily for personal, family purposes, it is almost certainly exempt as a household good. However, to be 100% safe, I would claim it as exempt on the homestead deed for $1.00.
