Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

On Homestead Deeds ect

Hi,

I co own property[commercial] rental with my ex husband. That is my sole income, added w/$700. SS.

I have been treated for mental illness for 14 yrs, during which time, I was divorced. Which is a whole other issue, but as a result, of poor representation, I was left responsible for my health care, which ran out Dec 05. I had several affordable plans which paid nothing, and I have incurred debts, while being in a Debt consilidation, who has done little, can a hospital put a lein on my share of the building? I go to court on the 3rd of April, and only just found out this Debt company is not helping me, in any way.

How can a middle aged woman, who does charity work, having fully recovered, but whose income does not allow for health care or lawyers, but makes too much for assistance, manage? Or are we just disposable?

Thanks

If you're going to court tomorrow, April 3, 2008, and without a lawyer, you may want to ask the court for a continuance to allow you additional time to see whether you might qualify for low cost legal services from an agency such as Blue Ridge Legal Services or similar provider in your particular area.
