Re: Hospital Bill

Start by contacting the hospital and its billing department or outside agency which may handle the billing and trace down the source of the bill. You

can, also, determine who the current lienholder is by inspecting the judgment lien book in the circuit court where your property is located.

It may be that you moved and did not receive the bill or were otherwise unavailable when the hospital was trying to get in touch with you, and, consequently, the hospital turned it over for collection which, then, apparently, resulted in a judgment against you and lien against your property.

You will have to pay off the judgment creditor first(which may be some person(s) or entity other than the hospital) in order to get the lien released and your house refinanced.
