Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

I became involved with a girl I met on an online forum. We had a relationship for 6 months where I was flying out from Texas to Virginia to meet her regularly. She claimed to be a single 26 year old college student with lots of loans that had to be paid off and thats why she was always broke. We explored the idea of marriage and she said she wanted to marry me. I spent over $10,000 on gifts and hotels and airfares to maintain this relationship. It turns out she was a liar, conning people regularly online with this fake story She had given a fake name and everything,. I found out later that she was a married mother of 3 kids,. is there anmything i can do legally to get my money back?

Looks like you may be the now "remorseful giver" which there was a question about yesterday in this forum, posed, apparently by this alleged fraudster.

I answered that since the items described as given to her would seem to be gifts, I doubted that the now remorseful giver would have any legal basis to recover any of what had been given to her (irrespective of the circumstances under which the gifts were given).

One might be moved to ask, nevertheless, who will now be her next victim, seeking love on the Internet?
