Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia
I have been having issues with Kay Jewelers for over a year now. The current issue is that I purchased a ring. I paid with a gift card (approx $1500) and the rest was put on my Kay's account to be paid by me (approx $1700). I returned the ring and the store didn't give me the gift card back and just put the whole $3200 back on my Kay's account. I called to request the money back by them sending me a check because my balance was +$3270. They told me they had to make an adjustment to my account and they would send me the $1700, but I would need to go to the store to pick up my $1500 gift card. Can they just make that adjustment after returning it all to my Kay's account? It was their error! I have a receipt that says all $3270 was put back into my Kay's account! Thank you.

If I were you, I would follow their instructions to the proverbial "tee" and
go to the referenced store to pick up your gift card for the $1500.
Do you have a written or other contract with them that says they can not do this? If you are concerned about it, you should get an attorney to help you.
